I’m Sitting on Top of the World – Entertainment Plus Creations own Kathy Geary gives her own take on this timeless tribute to the manic stage of manic depression. Written by Ray Henderson with lyrics by Sam M. Lewis and Joe Young. Jolson’s 1926 recording of the song propelled it into the American Songbook, and was used in the1928 part-talkie film ‘The Singing Fool’ starring Al Jolson. The song has since been covered by everyone from Taj Mahal to Doris Day, and you can listen to the original in the closing sequence of Richard Loncraine’s film Richard III (1995).
